What is the percentage of believers to non-believers? In the US.
I was watching the TV show, the good doctor, s2 ep16, and one of the doctor characters said, with authority, "something like 90% of Americans believe God".
I though that seemed waaay too high. Is it?
The number of people who believe in a God in this country is probably not easy to get accurately. I have seen between 60 something and 80 something percent. The number of people going to church has been in steady decline for awhile. It seems to be less than 50%.
I think the average person finds it easier to accept a higher power in the universe than to believe that all the matter and energy along with the laws and constants of physics simply popped into being in a single instant, all by accident.
