Hello everybody! Now that we have a "hunker down" situation in a lot of places, what are your hunker down activities? What would they be if there were a power loss? (DISCLAIMER: No, not suggesting our current situation might bring about a power outage, just digging deeper for activites.)

But this would be the perfect time for Putin to attack the power grid and/or the internet.
Ugh, a power outage would be uncomfortable. Just doing a little bit of work, and keeping up on outside events. I'm slowly relaxing into the idea of working through the stack of books next to my bed, and it would be nice for the rain to stop long enough for me to get some yard work done. Being outside would be refreshing.
I am predicting a Covid-19 baby boom! Our house is always well stocked, my husband works from home, we're pretty much doing what we always do.
We picked up a month's worth of homework for Lia, the granddaughter that I babysit. I cannot wait to see what 5th-grade math looks like these days. All my upcoming medical appointments have been canceled.
I am in the high-risk group but continue doing what I always do, with the addition of taking my temperature every day. 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit is the magic number. I am also out of red wine. Bad, bad, bad. I may have to go out into the uncertain wilderness.
I am getting stuff done around the house. With school closed, the studio is not available so I am painting at home.
It looks like this will impact city/ suburban activities (dining, shopping, museums, sporting events) much more than us small town/ rural people. But here goes anyway:
At present: Cleaning up property....leaves haven't been raked in a couple of years. My Woods has fallen trees & branches needing cut up and some firewood stocked.
Some house maintenance. Cleaned the shit out of the chicken coop yesterday, gave the hens new straw
Next: Work on lawnmowers & roto tiller. Gonna have a small garden.
Later: organize both pole barn & shop....plant garden
An ongoing things,......read watch TV, play guitar and I will be going to work once in a while
I do what I normally do:
Exercise
Cook
Dance and sing
Play with my baby sweetness daughter
Go to the park
Talk to my friends on the phone
Log in to agnostic
I have a large pile of books waiting to be read which could keep me occupied for a very long period. The days are quite lengthy now with approx 12 hours of daylight, not so much a problem as far as light is concerned, and I have a generator in any case, for emergency power outages, logs for fire and plenty of food. I live in the middle of the country and won’t feel confined at home as my property sits on an acre and a half and I can roam around the surrounding neighbourhood of fields and lanes without meeting anyone in normal circumstances, don’t think that Coronavirus will make any difference to that. Fresh milk I can ask my neighbouring farmer to leave at my door, and I can bake some bread if necessary, though I don’t eat much bread as a rule anyway. I should have said, I’m already retired and live on my own, so am used to solitary living, although I will miss socialising with friends and singing with choir...I’m already more or less self isolating.
