Israeli virologist urges world leaders to calm public, slams ‘unnecessary panic’
Yes, as Doug Adams said, "Don't panic." Keep calm, and carry on, right? But until we flatten the curve, we really must shelter in place, or else our future is Italy's multiplied fivefold.
noooo, people need to stay home. I have lived this scenario a few times on WoW. if noobs keep moving around they will kill us all eventually.
STAY AT HOME!
A message heard around the world
from Singapore to Rome.
Our fate's at stake, don't circulate
just stay the f*ck at home.
I know we all have different jobs
some sing ... some polish chrome.
"Emergent task?" is all we ask
else stay the f*ck at home.
Food and health excepted
but that's no permit to roam.
The grocery store and nothing more
then stay the f*ck at home.
"Well I won't die" some youth decry
"I dream of the ocean foam".
thoughts of others? friends or brothers?
stay the f*ck at home!
A couple months should be enough
then seek ye the pines and emerald brome
but still the vow we need for now
is stay the f*ck at home.
I think he’s right in saying that the virus itself isn’t that bad (for most people). That’s not the problem — it’s that, for those who do get a more deadly case of coronavirus, they will overtax the healthcare system. This issue has been widely reported and is what “flatten the curve” is all about. He doesn’t take this into consideration at all.
Mmm how one person knows how the rest of the world is responding is beyond me. He must have many and varied contacts. I feel a bit stressed, but not panicked, what about you?
I don’t feel stress at all, but there is an element of excitement. Shamefully I am enjoying the pandemic so far. As a retired person living in the country, my life is little changed.
I lean toward thinking that the Coronavirus epidemic is greatly overblown and that some of the measures being taken are more destructive than the virus itself.
@Matias mmm the hospitalisation and death rates seem much higher in covid19 patients even in early studies: [google.co.uk]
But here’s hoping it’s not as bad as the worst predictions
@WilliamFleming I’m glad you’re going well I’m still working, so in the scheme of things am pretty lucky too.
