What a wonderful lesson in the best of human nature that is. We in the West live in societies where excess and greed are encouraged, and it takes a little boy who has nothing to show us how to act and share with each other. Someone below missed that message completely when he commented on the lollipop and it’s sugar content, making the issue not one of giving and receiving. However, by focussing on the correctness or otherwise of the gift itself he lost the whole point of the post.

While somewhere in the world in the land of abundance, we throw tons of food each day.

Meanwhile those of us who have way more than we need hoard. So sad.
