Latest world figures, as at 10am GMT (6am EST) show 19,100 people dead and 109,241 recovered. That means 128,341 cases have had an outcome.
It also means that, to date,
ONE IN SIX OF THESE CASES DIED
Before you panic, remember that we don't know how many mildly affected people have had it and recovered. This figure only applies to those who were ill enough to require testing in the first place.

It's another way of saying that for every 5 people discharged from hospital after having Covid-19, one person died.

Or, actually, were able to get a test...there is a Serious shortage of test kits! Not to mention protective gear for health workers, ventilators, annnddd etc.....
