While we struggle through, what will the world look like in 6, 12 and 18 months? [esquire.com]
No real way of knowing...but let’s hope this pandemic and the collapse of the capitalist economic model will be the catalyst for rethinking and resetting our priorities.
Unfortunately, the most likely outcome is expounded here.

@Allamanda Try this link.
@Allamanda I've deleted it from politics, and reposted it in General and Hellos. Here.
Like it or not, the world is heading for a recession. The remedy for a recession is for governments to create full employment of their citizens.
Although huge public projects can create work, the most effective and time-honoured method of creating full employment is.....
......
war
@Petter Says who exactly...what is your source? I utterly reject that analysis...we need some new thinking from enlightened people, maybe the women of the world, instead of tired old men who are always ready to go to war. War doesn’t solve problems...it just kills more people and causes more misery.
@Marionville Says history. Poverty has always led to civil insurrection and war. .... and the world is very likely going to enter a recession, with widespread poverty.
I hate this conclusion, but it is very, very likely.
@Petter Then we have to do our best to change that model for a better one. We need to start by electing a different type of politician...ones that unite us and do not sow divisions of hate and blame.
@Marionville As per Merkel in Germany?
@Petter She is certainly better than most...probably due to the fact that she saw first hand what the aftermath of war can do to a country, living as she did in the Soviet half of her own for the first half of her life.
Shit....just like before.
