For those thrown into the novel situation of enforced/compulsory self isolation I have the following suggestions:

Try the "eat when needed & hungry" not the eat by routine schedule.
If largely inactive it is very easy to quickly get into one meal every 24 hours supplemented by water, hot drinks, fruit when either the stomach shouts or low blood sugar starts the hand shakes.

Set and keep a daily schedule of routines
eg.

  • 1 hour news,

  • 1 hour house cleaning,

  • 1 hour reading books,

  • 1 hour menu planning - prep - savouring,

  • 1 hour study,

  • 1 hour gardening,

  • 1 hour personal hygiene and mental care, (don't forget the holding the breath test every morning)

  • 1 hour exercise,

  • 1 hour communication,

  • 1 hour hobby

  • etc.

  • You still have 8 hours for sleep and 6 hours for other activities such as music, films and social media sites such as Agnostics.com. And most importantly plan for your future.

Stay safe and learn, then extend, empathy.

I hope that the Companions of Health, Peace and Fulfilment will walk with you during these difficult times.

Routine is great for mental health.

Thanks, those of us who reside in apartments may not have all those options, and in my case I must eat in time otherwise I'll be snacking too much, so it works for me to have breakfast at 6 am, lunch around noon and dinner at about 6pm.

I used to say that. It's willpower then simply life.

@FrayedBear willpower won't create a garden or permit my hobby of listening to loud rock music in my condo which does not allow live plants or loud music.

@Mofo1953 wow, sounds like you are imposed upon by obsessive compulsive control freaks.

@FrayedBear most condo HOAs are control freaks.

Eating on a "schedule" is probably not what animals should do. I can regulate my weight better if I don't think about it and eat when I'm hungry.

Okay, I have a problem. I don't get 'hungry'. I have to have a schedule and stick to it. Often no snacks just 3 regular meals and 12+ hours between the last and first. I have no health issues (except a bit of GERD) and maintain a set weight and energy level.

I didn’t notice any time set aside for alcohol consumption 🤔

Here's where multitasking is going to be valuable.

eg. etc. And 6 unscheduled hours for if you wish to prioritise your addiction.😉
