No, not everything has a reason. All forms of DNA and RNA are subject to mutation; accordingly, viruses take on new forms all the time. (I'm sure someone on this list can more precisely describe / plot the rate at which viral mutations emerge as lethal pathogens.) If one more yahoo says something about Covid-19 being God's message, or lesson, or harbinger of the Second Coming, I'm going to stroke out, and Covid-19 will never have chance to get me!
