If you have ever wondered about the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy in November, 1963, here is a new, original song released ( March 27th, 2020 ) by Bob Dylan about that very subject.
And, this NPR article lists all the other artists' songs referenced by Dylan in his song's lyrics. [npr.org]
The killer lyric is this ballad is the following:
"Don't worry, Mr. President, help's on the way
Your brothers are comin', there'll be hell to pay
Brothers? What brothers? What's this about hell?
Tell them, "We're waiting, keep coming," we'll get them as well."
Just when I thought Bob Dylan was past his use by date, here he comes with this extraordinary song, rich in political, cultural, historical and musical references.
I wonder who Bob thinks "We" are in that verse?
Many of us wonder exactly who were the "we" waiting to kill him and his brothers!
