The writer politely says America is committing economic suicide with the miniscule and conditional rescue package. [I'd say it's being deliberatly killed by the oligarchy via Trump].

Seems like the Republicans also complained Obama was allowing too much to be spent for the last recovery program. We all know how well that turned out. It's the usual cowardly republicans giving in to the billionaire cheapskate-in-chief. We need to remember he did not earn most of his money but inherited it and has shown how clueless he is about economics. I agree about the oligarchy trying to kill a more generous package.
If so,then we have been grossly under represented by feckless and cowardly politicians, who rushed to prop huge corporations ag as in,and turned their backs on the rest of America. There must_
Yes, it's another means of widening both the wealth gap and the health gap.
I think it is too soon for another rescue package like we just had. Just putting money in people's hands at this point won't rescue the economy - there's nothing to spend it on other than food and Netflix. It's the people that need rescuing, not banks and businesses.
What they should be doing is having a national moratorium on rent and mortgage payments (ditto for commercial leases) with 100% forgiveness on any interest due for these months. It's not like there isn't 0% interest free money out there available in the trillions. Also a guarantee of power and water for all, and food stamps for all so no one is going without the essentials. And we have so many empty hotels everyone should be guaranteed a roof over their head no matter what.
