Today was Reap the Rewards of Eight years' Worth of Drinking.
Yes, my bonus card was finally filled, for a $20 free purchase of wine or liquor. Woo-hoo!
I got a lovely bottle of Bombay Sapphire. And to start the whole process all over again, I also bought a bottle of Malbec.
I feel I should build a liquor cabinet to house all three bottles! But no, then I would have to throw away those plastic champagne glasses I tend to drink from. Noblesse oblige, n'est pas?
Now I have to turn to Rage Against the Machine, to get that girl singer stuff out of my ears. Lia listens to them all-day and my teeth are on edge.
Unless of course you anticipate this bottle of gin to be your last, Bombay Sapphire is way too good for a pandemic. I prefer Seagrams or even Gordons when drinking alone in the bubble. As they say, half of us will emerge from this quarantine as much-improved cooks, and the other half with a drinking problem.
But it is just good enough for me. I know you are all in shock from the pandemic, but I spent the first 12 years of my life in a camp for displaced persons in Germany after the war.. Now I have a house and land and indoor plumbing and wine and gin whenever I want. Cheers!
Maybe, just maybe AA is for you
Don't AA meetings violate most shelter in place directives?
Dear, I lived for 24 years with an alcoholic. AA is not for me or, better said I am not good for AA.
AA sucks. Not necessary.
It's a religious cult.
Wow free booze congratulations!
Thanks! I earned it myself!
You sound gloriously drunk!
Not yet, but I am working on it.
Congratulations, that was a lot of patience!
I really did not think it would take that long, but then the liquor store in our village closed and I was forced to visit this one. happy rewards day today!
As Lou Reed once sang, The Power Of Positive Drinking...
OH, funny song!
