As a relaxed agnostic, I am in the "ignorant and apathetic" camp - I don't know, and I don't care.
However, at a company Christmas party some time back (and I was "out" as Agnostic) I just about made a Christian friend's head explode when I told him he was more of an atheist than I.
"How can you say that!?!?!? I believe in God!"
"I know," said I," but I don't believe or disbelieve in ANY of the hundreds of gods that H. Quasi Sapiens has come up with. YOU actively disbelieve in all but one of them."
He didn't talk to me for a month - and never spoke of his religion to me again..
I agree with him. What you did was antisocial and obnoxious.
I neglected to mention that said Christian friend was, prior to my comment, attempting to preach his gospel at me. i.e., he started that ball rolling; I just kicked it out the door.
@matthew1954 that is an important detail. But sometimes it is best to disengage entirely.
I agree, but it wasn't the first time - and fortunately, it was a small company, and the President was not cool with it, he was having a hard time not laughing out loud - but when I got into the Corporoid world, I became MUCH more discrete. Fortunately, I was only in that world for a few years
It's very freeing. Isn't it?.
Indeed it is
