I’m a lovely young lady in my 60’s. Never been married, no kids. I hope to meet someone before I die. No one has time for reality. It breaks my heart.

I was married for 25 years, and it was very difficult. We were too young, too different, had to many tragedies, and different ways of coping with them. After we parted ways, we Like your own company, and never, ever settle. dear friends and loved each other on a very different level till he died. I like my solitary life, but, would like to have a man in my life. I am 71though, and in the years since my divorce, the men I have dated were not for me. Most want to change me, but I have spent my life discovering what I am, and I don't find them to be bad traits, so I am not willing to change. ( go to church, have tattoos removed, give up my pagan beliefs, etc). Mostly they were things to make the man happy. I want a man who is worthy of me, who is my equal, who I can respect, who is a brave, honorable man, and is as accepting of me as I am of him. So far, no luck, and I doubt if it will ever happen at my age. ( Most men don't want a woman around their age, it seems). So, I would say, make yourself happy, and never, ever settle. You never know.Someone may come along, but if they don't, you have yourself, your friends and your self respect.

There's an old saying "be careful what you wish for". I have been there (but haven't seemed to have gotten the message).

My aunt was once in that same boat (never married, no kids and wanting to retire and have someone care for them - she and her mother). She got her wish but they fought worse than cats and dogs for the rest of her life (she died before him).

Agreed. My grandfather's 2nd wife who fortunately also died before he did, was an abrasive parasite that seemed to suck all the happiness out of the air. Although my grandfather never complained, it was clear by her constant demands for (insert anything and everything with a loud WINE - - - I can still hear her constant and abrasive, "Robert, Rub My Feet They Hurt!" She honestly sounded like the Llama with the hat with flower.

Join charity and social events in the community. My best friend moved to San Diego and having a rough time meeting men. Have been on dating sites?

I’m a business owner, an actress, an artist, a member of the chamber of commerce. I just joined this group. Am a member of 4 other dating sites.

@crazycurlz. Well, that was so kind of you and I truly appreciate that. You have a wonderful evening !!!! Cheers !!! ( Yes, that was likely your good deed of the day, I am happy !! )

Ahhhh... My tiny keyboard don't help at times, I meant to type @crazycurlz Just notice the edit button and got it fix. Thanks again

@IamNobody I don't do good deeds of the day...I just LIVE this way, aware of other peoples' good deeds. And the way you reached out to MissRogan WAS a good deed. I will follow your posts, IamNobody because YOU ARE SOMEBODY worthwhile!

Have you considered meetup.com and trying to find someone with shared interests? Or using yelp.com and going to a UYE event? Lots of dinner meet ups there depending on where you live.

Excuse me? I should leave THIS dating site. People don’t date here?

I don't think you should leave, but there are some sites that are built for the purposes of bringing groups of people together at once. Meetup and Yelp are really good at that, it allows you the safety of meeting for a specific interest (whatever hobby or thing you are into) and seeing multiple people at once, just as if you were hanging out with any group of friends. You can then decide to pair off with whoever you want.

@MissRogan jperlow's trying to be helpful...why would you read anything else into this?
