Trump is copying Hitler's early rhetoric...
There isn't an original thought or idea in the incomparably puny and narcissistic mind of the 45th president, a man who fancies himself as a populist, when in reality he came up 3 million votes short of a majority. That he was even elected is not the worst of it, however. What has made matters worse is that this neo-fascist blow hard has been aided and abetted by about 53 lap dogs in the Senate who have, in effect, switched political parties from Republican to Trumpian.
Don't forget the people who DID vote for him.
and his 5 lapdogs on the supreme court
@itsmedammit Indeed, I haven't forgotten them. Peel away the swing voters, and we're left with a large portion of the country who would support Trump, no matter his behavior.
@bklynite53 Trump's nominated two lapdogs for sure, but the other three are more like cats who may, from time to time, rub up against his legs.
@itsmedammit The Republican Party fell ill in the late 1950s when its far right - the John Birch Society aided by western conservatives - refused to negotiate with eastern moderates and started expelling them.
In the late 1960s, needing to replace their lost moderates, the GOP recruited the racist southern Democrats who opposed the Voting Rights Act. In the late 1970s they realized that evangelicals were conservatives and the Reagam Republicans — without first counting them — invited them into the Party. Their refusal to compromise, aided by Lee Atwater and Newt Gingrich, started the polarization we now see.
The national GOP needed the evangelicals’ votes but refused to give them any of what they wanted. The exploited and angry evangelicals took over many state GOP organizations. Trump the demagogue came along and his attacks on the national GOP won evangelical support.
The Democrats nominated Obama, and that was more than the GOPs racists could take.
trump is just the poster boy for the Obstructionist republican fascist and their wealthy owners and their corporations!!!
We must eradicate these obstructionist republican fascist from our government!!!
I heard or read somewhere that he read mien kampf and a book of Hitlers speach's.
Article states he read speeches. That would be saying that he actually reads. I doubt it.
@itsmedammit What motivates him? IMO, his narcissism and the poor self-image that drives it. He needs worshippers.
I read Hitler’s Mein Kampf. He had a functioning mind.
@SeaGreenEyez , @yvilletom, Trump is skilled at manipulation. He didn't need to take lessons or inspiration from Hitler, though he did have help along the way. Interesting documentary is "Get Me Roger Stone" on Netflix. I had thought Stone was just a coattail ride but he apparently did quite a bit to get Trump elected. He knows that hate is a strong motivator and he got Trump to use the birther angle.
Trump did have a mentor in Roy Cohn who taught him to always sue and never, ever apologize or take blame for anything.
