This is the story of the Barn and Grill Restaurant in my area. As you can see by the picture the owners must be religious to have the giant word "Jesus" on top of the building. This all happened when their son committed suicide after his girlfriend was killed in a car wreck. Apparently the boy wanted to go to heaven to be with her and his parents converted and put "Jesus" on top of the old barn-like building. Inside you were served by angel-like waitresses. What a gimmick.
As of March 22nd it was announced that the restaurant would be closed until further notice. They have also removed the giant "Jesus word" from the top of the building. This would seem pretty definate of a closure to me. This has me thinking of two possible reasons why:
Fellow church goers told the owners that committing suicide is an unpardonable sin and the boy went to hell.
COVID-19 is the beginning of the end, or an anger at god for allowing this as they had to shut down their business and livelihood.
What do you think?
My best guess would be that the restaurant is closing for good, and the realtor told them that the place would be more marketable without the sign.
But I could be wrong, so let's have some fun with this!
Maybe they took the sign home with them and set it up in their living room, to feel closer to God.
Maybe the sign is actually INSIDE the restaurant right now, supernaturally protecting it from looters.
Maybe the sign is set up on their residential street, so all the neighbors can see how holy they are.
Maybe the sign was stolen, and is now decorating one of our secret atheist lairs, like they suspect us of doing. We probably sacrifice babies on it or something.
It is a pointless exercise to try and find reason in the behavior of the superstitious
