Following is a quote from an article by the late James Laxer, an avowed socialist. A good retort to Doug Ford’s nonsense and to others who oppose socialism but do not actually know what it is.

The problem is, there is NO example of any society that is successful at instituting democratic socialism without becoming fascistic. Sweden is a great example of government corruption, and canada, and the UK, and germany, and china, and russia,....
Each has, and continues to, suppress free speech, deny facts, refuses to release reports, and cancels, any who even ask questions about the government's competence.
