Hey, gentlemen, do us both a favor and please add a picture to your profile! It's not so much about whether you think your looks will help or hurt, but we women like to check out the sincerity in your eyes and we do like to pretend your smile is meant for us. Chatting to a generic, faceless "Ken doll" image makes you seem less like a real boy and makes us wonder what you're hiding. In a world where "stranger danger" is really a thing for women, this matters more than you may realize. Oh, and even if those pecks are too gorgeous to miss, do keep your shirt on for the picture, please! Allow us look forward to that discovery at a later date. Thank you!

One more comment. Even 'tho I like to discuss the reasons for being agnostic. I still want to share a relationship with a compassionate woman. Why not? At my age I still want to enjoy what's left.
Amazing, that the word passion is part of the word, compassionate. Must be a reason. ??

yes--put those pics out there please. It's not a beuaty contest. You can tell a lot about a person by his/her picture. If someone is so hung up on physical looks you don't want to date them anyway

I'm much deeper than looks but I got to be attracted to you too.

I'm taken (23 years) so I have full confidence in my scary profile pic

Well said!

One other suggestion:current pics-If I'm meeting you after flying for7 hours I want to be able to recognize you at baggage claim. Been there done that. Oh and no hats please. Love and collect hats myself.

See if they have hair or not?

Nice to know

My pic could only hurt. But I am pretty good at faking sincerity.

Yes, I should have specified that I meant those looking for a partner or a date. And yes, a person could put up a picture of someone other than themselves, however, if you present yourself as George Clooney, prepared to get an unfavorable reaction if a meetup ever occurs. When I say it's not so much about looks, I mean that as opposed to appearance. You can have absolutely gorgeous bone structure and an Adonis-like physique, however if I can see that you have a beard to your knees with spiders in it and a penchant for wearing a traffic cone for a hat, I would like to be warned before I accept your invitation to go for coffee. Odds are good that I won't be reponding to your message.

of course, I am working on that.

Ya, no photo is usually an immediate "delete" from me. I'm no goddess anymore, but IMO, photos on social media are a part of etiquette & good manners.
If one is trying to communicate for dating purposes, photos help. (not that appearance has THAT much pull) @Deb57 said it very well with the "spiders in the beard" thing...
On the dark humor side:
I'm not trying get bricked/plastered up in someones crawlspace. (a bit too Dexter?)

@LeighShelton 🙂 🙂

If it were only Ken dolls, those standard avatars are without any personallity. But Deb75, you can always look into the profile. Sometimes you are lucky and can you find there what you are looking for.

I may interact in the postings with non-photos, but wouldn't do much with messaging.

I covered up the pecs, but you said nothing about the guns.

All kidding aside, great message.

I would like 2 note that this does not go for all women. I myself couldn't care less if u have a pic. Sometimes tho, if u have a cute doggo or something funny it may catch my eye, but a picture of u only really starts 2 matter 2 me when we have talked a while and I want 2 put a face 2 the personality I've grown 2 enjoy. I have a pic of a sketch I did. Honestly I think I only have maybe 3 or 4 pic of me anyhow, and they're all at least 3 years old. But I can understand how some people, women and men, would find that more important than I do. Not knocking it, just not my thing 🙂

posting your art work as you have done or for me photographs I took and pictures of my pets say more about me than my face

^^Seconded.

You saw that chest pic guy's avatar too? Lol. Ew.

Lmao now I'm curious!

@Byrd It's on the main page. Or the last one. It's a chest with a cell phone in the pic. No head attached. Lol.

Haha. No head.

@Sarahroo29 bwahaha! I just had surgery so maybe I'm still high, but that just almost killed me I laughed so hard! Or tried not 2 so I don't reopen the wounds! Lol

@Byrd Lol. Sorry if you're injured again.

Very good!

You have precisely summed me up . I use my own photo and name ... I don't need anonymity simply because I don't care who knows what I look like and who I am . It does of course lead to problems on occasion ... The path to my door is getting rather worn by the women beating their way here , but someone's got to do it !

I guess I'm easily amused. I laughed at your last sentence.

@BlueWave Do I detect a note of disbelief ?

I had one of those generic photos for a long time. THen just some photos. There are a lot of different reasons why someone may not post a photo.Just go for the ones you can see🙂

I love this.

I tend to think that anyopne without a profile pic, or at least a shot of themselves somewhere on their profile page must be truly ugly, truly shy or truly scared of having their non-belief found out. If you do not fall into one of those categories, then you post a photo. P.S. The same applies to women, trans types, mono sexuals, hetero sexuals, homosexuals, etc.
