I have read some of his work, he was no slouch. No idea on the pervert side of him though, that was not my target as far as reading what he wrote.
@Archeus_Lore I was simply referring to the document fact that the vast majority of his published work was written while he was an inmate at the Paris hospital for the insane, smuggled out to his publisher by means of a rope and basket lowered from his room window.
Yes, a rather interesting person, I saw a movie about him, but it is hard to judge from a movie, it may not be to factual. He had an interesting take on war too. I would not mind learning more about him when I have more time for it. The French and France produced some interesting characters, that is for sure.
