The Supreme Court is far from our only worry if trump is re elected.
This is a Right Wing rag, which doesn’t make them wrong on the repercussions of McConnell holding up Obama appointments for six years with the hope (or knowledge?j that the Republicans would win the presidency in 2016. By changing the rules for confirmation to only needing a majority rather than 60% to confirm, he guaranteed that there would be little resistance to any Trump (read Far Right) nominees put forward. We are truly screwed in most southern states for probably the next two decades, but the US Supreme Court can overrule decisions by more Liberal state circuit courts, which is why it is still the most vulnerable and most in need of keeping the Right from getting one more Trumplican on. A 6 to 3 ruling is less prone to later reversal than a 5 to 4.
Interesting that Senate Democrats seem to overwhelmingly vote for Trump appointees. I get they’re in the minority. But how do Dems differentiate themselves from Republicans in future elections? “We’re not Trump but we voted for his Conservative judges” is hardly a viable campaign slogan.
