I’m not sure predator is the right word, for humanity or the world. The world’s a survivor, for sure, until the sun goes, then we’ll see if life continues. (Or not, lols).
Humanity caused the most destruction by deforestation followed by industrialisation. Accidental destruction really, which a few people, like William Morris, saw the implications of long before anyone else.
Sure we can be predators, but it seems to be communication leading to mass organisation and a system where money has more power than ethics that are the bigger issues.
Hopefully mass communication will lead to mass education and therefore ethics and innovation bringing the current inhabitants a future rather than extinction. Time will tell, and I’m middle aged already, so just doing my best to be a can and not a can’t
