What is your best Impersonation and why do you favor it. I've witnessed some Good Richard Nixon, John Wayne, Father Guido Sarducci, Dean Martin, Andy Devine and Walter Brennen was one of my favorites.
I am not an actor, but a few movies get filmed here, a few of us for a joke applied to be in Pirates 5 as extras. None of us were, but one got a role as a zombie in another movie as a result.
I figured my best chances in pirates were "drunk in the corner" or "village idiot wheeling a barrow"
I do voices, accents and characters, it would take a lot more practice to do celebrities.
I'm an uncurible mimic so I pick up voices and dialects very easily. I used to be a voice actor while working in radio broadcasting on commercials and I impersonated celebs quite often. I do so many it's hard to pick a stand out. Although I did get a number of compliments on my Desi Arnaz!
I used to do vocal impersonations and it always got a good laugh. I don't do them today because I found out a few years ago that nobody knows them. They used to praise me for my Jimmy Stewart impression. Most people under 50 have no idea who you are talking about. Nobody even watches B&W movies today.
I'm back with some other favorites. Fred Gynne either in Car 54, or the Munsters. Rodney Dangerfield " I get no respect" Lily Tomlin "One Ringy Dingy" These were people who got into a character that they forgot who they were in reality. Some of these characters are of a later generation and so you might have to go back and Google them on You Tube to see the shows. Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, Mr. Rodgers singing its a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood. Alfalfa singing "I'm in the mood for Love" in the series "Our Gang" I don't know what else to post to get you people awake and rolling with the tide. Paul Newman singing "I don't care if it rains or freezes" from the movie "Cool Hand Luke" The movie is a classic if you have never seen it, but Imus took it to another level on his radio show as his opening into.
Can't do an impression to save my life.
Do you watch SNL who has a host of females who do take offs and some are cross dressed for the occasion. Spicer was the best . Lilly Tomlin? May West, You have to be able to sing a tune or two. Etta James, Janis, Rosemary Cloony, come on Girl.
can't sing to save my life - why I didn't make it as an actress
My best impersonation is Pee Wee Herman. I'd rather it be Father Guido Sarducci. I love his act.
