Is Trump losing his Christian support?
Recent events in Washington vis-a-vie his photo -op and planned visit to a Catholic shrine, have led to vehement condemnation by both Episcopal church leaders and the Catholic bishop of Washington. Given that it was always a match made in hell between a 3 times married, serial philanderer and family value Christians. Can the tide be turning against him?
I know that the alt-right and base will remain solid but that is just a small number of Christians in America. Can the rest of the electorate that purports to believe in Christ's teachings really follow him into the voting booth or will other church leaders show them the error of their ways?

say what you will about Catholics but its really the evangelicals who support him the most (SEE JOEL OSTEEN) THey are more than not likely to support him despite the divorces, the cheating, the accusations....the locking children up need i go on? I am speaking from family history of how we were raised. Catholics and other denominations have their issues but they have the ability to say THAT is wrong. His supporters refuse to do that . I am surprised and happy that the Bishop spoke out so publicly. And condemnation now is especially needed with the bad reputation they have. I know it might be a moot point here but I hope they continue speaking out.

We see a number of religious leader who are really more political than religious - second generation individuals who inherited fortunes and reputations built by their fathers. Support for Trump by these individuals has not wavered, but their support of him may have caused their supporters to begin questioning them.

What I have read recently is that Trump's disapproval rating is higher than any US President at this point in his administration and that the loss of support comes from across the demographic spectrum - including evangelicals.

He still has a firm hold on his Evangelical base. They have drunk the Kool Aid and only care about abortion. They are perfectly happy to toss the country under the bus to remove a woman's right to choose.

Unfortunately, most only care about abortion, but enough who are not single issue voters may be peeled away to hurt him.

Yes they can and surely will. Trumpism is a cult.

Some probably are but you have to clearly define terms, evangelicals will never do that because they are so brainwashed, that common sense was replaced by abject hypocrisy a long time ago.

Religious people aren't the best critical thinking.

They will find a way to rationalize his actions and still support him.

I am Still surprised that He who can't be named is still alive and kicking and a lynch mob has not rounded him up and strung him high for his totally obnoxious views and outlook of the people of America...but it looks like you like being punished by the bully and bow before his insane words and draw meaning from them...lol...just a view from afar...

@Fred_Snerd I have been a salesman most of my life...and never sold the people the wrong product then boasted about it or forced anyone to buy into the wrong product...

@Fred_Snerd I was a good salesman...when people came in looking for advice I gave them as much as I knew and said it in a non tech way,( I sold, advised, and even lectured on all tech stuff) it eventually got to the point when folk were coming in their friends said speak to the long haired hippy guy he knows...lol...theres no point in telling folk lies as you will get caught out eventually...

To be honest I'm not sure he had the majority of religious people anyway, evangelicals for sure, but the rest seemed to be a mixed bag. I'm not sure about anyone else but I have been seeing various church leaders standing directly against him here and there as well. To be honest I can't recall if what I was hearing as just my state or if it was on the more national news. Either way, it wouldn't surprise me if they started turning on him at this point. Clearly if he was as "chosen and blessed by God" as they say then all this we as a country wouldn't be happening.

From what I understand, it was the abortion card that swayed a lot of Christian voters. If Biden can gather enough dog-collars around him, that may change things?

@273kelvin I don't know, with how things are going at this point I'm thinking since he's been through a few epedemics and knows how to handle himself, the abortion issue might end up on the back burner for many... not all, clearly, but I think if they were truly pro lifers then fixing pandemics and economic death spirals would take precidence.

@linxminx I might not be Christian but I've known some good ones. I'd think even the sects that follow him will divide on this as such things really start affecting them and those they love. Maybe I'm a bit optimistic that they will grow a heart and some awareness but I've known a few true Christians who don't wish to control others, not even through the laws and see him as the chaos maker that he is. I just keep hope there are enough of those left that their focus might shift a bit.

@Fred_Snerd Surely you have that the wrong way round. America kills the children of their enemies
