The true and more basic "bane of humanity" is the delusion that the supernatural realm (heaven to some) is real. The supernatural is a mental construct, it is an imaginary world of what might be, to those so deluded and infected with the virus of faith. This burden must be shed by the realization of our true place in the universe, that of highly evolved hairless apes.
