I't just tell them that if they expect me to respect theri beliefs, then they need to respect mine. If they dott' then it is "open season."

Drop them and find new friends? Do you have to interact with them on a daily or semi-daily basis?

I drop my friends at my conservative Christian college real fast when they start using their religion to condemn me to hell

Me too!

I feel free to discuss everything -- science, politics, art, philosophy, history, etc, etc -- openly with others and don't mind a good, productive argument. But I never discuss religion with a general population as one cannot discuss rationally with one who stays in the world of irrationality.

Tell them the positives of your beliefs and they will sound foolish and refuting them. If Christians just promoted Christianity has peace and love who wouldn't support that?

If it makes you feel a bit better, you can always remember this article (or the studies behind it): [independent.co.uk]

That would be nice. Since I have been in this group I find it interesting how many people feel the need to prove their stance to people. I guess I have never bothered and can sit and listen to someone without objecting unless it is something like murder. NOt sure if that is good or bad but I sleep well at night
