Ok medical boffins, those who specialise in disease control. How do we rate this video?
Shameful disinformation palatable only to those who don't understand evidence.
Utter bullshit.
@powder maybe it's an international thing, but for me, trying to go to the website the video listed for more info and it doesn't exist. They provided zero references for their information in the video, provided a bunch of bar graphs with no descriptive markers, didn't even "name" the cheap existing drug that supposedly treats it effectively in the video. There are so many red flags of unreliability here, please tell me which parts I'm wrongly seeing as utter bullshit. I get that the other extreme theory is equally unreliable and that yes, the reality remains yet to be seen. What I don't agree with is that there is any merit to this particular misinformation laden video. While the best lies may be rooted in some truth, I wouldn't even rate this as a good lie.
@powder I do hope you realize my um...cruelty, was not intended toward you, but the misinformation itself. Medical misinformation is one area my tolerance is admittedly lacking. It can be dangerous at times and aside from the Covid-19 issue, I've seen it cause real harm and lives. I do a lot of 'research' and medical info critiquing for my circle of friends. What you got was just tip of the iceberg that came off the top of my head after watching it. I'm not sure you want me digging any deeper. Lol Apologies for any unintended offense. I assumed you were skeptical yourself, throwing it out there for critique.
@powder I think some science people try a little too hard to communicate information in a way they think laypeople will understand, and, unfortunately, all too often butcher it in the process. Viruses are evolutionarily extremely intelligent little buggers, but not quite natural sociopaths.
@powder from the Oxford dictionary:
in·tel·li·gence
/inˈteləjəns/

I agree their intelligence is driven by evolution, but if you think viruses and bacteria aren't acquiring and applying knowledge and using it to adapt to hosts defenses, you're greatly underestimating them. They're so freaking smart they don't even need a brain to problem solve.
@powder just dabbling in being devil's advocate to get people thinking and talking. I certainly concede they have no emotion, and realize I'm stretching the literal definition of intelligence, but I worked in a microbiology lab for ten years before switching to nursing, and will likely forever contend that microbes will continue to 'outsmart' humans in their ability to adapt to change as long as there is life on the planet. Can I call that evolutionary skill? It's definitely not all random.
I would rate it zero. Rate it a 10 for misinformation. An attempt to minimize the pandemic.
@powder Really? There's 350 million Americans. With your logic we'd need 200 million cases. By that time there'd be millions of dead Americans. That's stupid enough to come from the mind of Donald Trump. If he gets re-elected, we'll all be dead. As for the video, I'll say it again it's put out by inbred flat earther antivaxxer illuminati mental defectives.
@powder You don't get it. A possible scenario, Trump loses the election, November 3, and before Biden is inaugurated Trump resigns. The new president, Mike Pence, who as VP take office by secession, pardons him. Biden becomes the new president January 20, the date for inauguration. That could happen. I'm not saying Joe Biden wins the election but if he does I think it's damn likely.
