Reincarnation has always been a very interesting concept to me. The idea is very intriguing. What do you think? Is it possible?
Absolutely, not. It's just another form of human arrogance and fear. The only thing that get reincarnated is this stupid idea.
I can't help but feel that every temptation to take the concept of reincarnation literally is fueled by humankind's natural fear of oblivion. And the sad irony of that is that the full acceptance of the inevitable reality of death may be the only path to the fabled victory over death, which is represented metaphorically as reincarnation.
“Death is not an event in life: we do not live to experience death. If we take eternity to mean not infinite temporal duration but timelessness, then eternal life belongs to those who live in the present. Our life has no end in the way in which our visual field has no limits.”
― Ludwig Wittgenstein, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus
I don't see how it could be. While I know that energy cannot truly be created nor destroyed, only change from one aspect to another. I just do not see how that energy. Could be transferred into a new life.
Well...you know the old saying “anything’s possible”...however some things are less likely to be possible than others, and this definitely falls into that category.
In the litany of ridiculous religious myths, that one remain near the top for me. Though, rather than utilize a unique grave I’d purchased many years ago, being content to have my ashes scattered ‘in some amazingly beautiful places,’ as promised by a daughter ..leaves me feeling, yes, I will ‘come back.’
Instead of lying deep inside a sealed casket until earth's upheaval brought it to the surface, my elements will immediately be incorporated into new life, of all forms..
Coming back as ‘someone else?’ only in the imaginations of the living ~
BTW, I would like to be reincarnated as a 69 mustang.
I don't think anything of it. Its not evidence driven. I would like unicorns to exist, but that would destroy reality.
It's an interesting idea to toy with, but I just don't see how it could be possible. The whole idea, after all, is dependent on the existence of a soul.
Many things are possible. It is possible that time goes round in a loop, and you live the same life over and over, it is possible that we don't really exist, because the universe and ourselves are just an illusion made by a program running on someones computer. Many things are possible, that is why it is sensible to ask for evidence, be very critical of evidence, and accept that you have to say. "I don't know." To most things.
Are you sure?
@PondartIncbendog No.
