Does Joe Biden have a plausible chance to transform the current leaden morass into pure, unadulterated gold? Is a supermajority in both Chambers of Congress crucial, or not?
Sleepy Joe is a return to status quo of doing nothing important.
These are Democratc specialties.
Trump will build a bigger, more beautiful Presidential library in Florida that will be a real revenue maker. Lol
Sounds like an improvement, if even one of your predictions come to naught. As for the rest:
When did pork go away?
Net immigration DECREASE under Obama.
When have politicians ever given up seats?
What infrastructure bill? You mean the one they haven't passed in almost four years?
The Tea Party went away? Maybe the KKK will go away.
Supermajority Democrats will ride into midterms at all-time high?
After skillful handling of Coronavirus and five additional trillion dollars later, get that printing press oiled up!
Corporate funding can GROW? Is that even possible!
Deficit? Trump balanced the budget?
The stock market has nothing to do with reality...how much STOCK do you own?
Ethusiasm is high? Could it possibly sink lower? Oh that's right you watch Fox News all day.
ANY change is good change at this point!
Super majority is Crucial. The Federal Budget and various laws and the repeal of various laws need more than a 51% vote. And the Republicans will just oppose EVERYTHING the democrats want to do. They need a super majority to get things done. It's also important that the republican members of congress are Punished for standing by while their leader set the country on fire.
Maybe a SUPER-supermajority. If the dogs are to be truly put back in the kennel, they must be beaten senseless.
(An analogy; I'm not into animal cruelty).
A super majority if at all.... only until the midterms.
@St-Sinner As you know the Midterms represent 1/3 of the seats in the house and the Senate. If the Supermajority in 2020 is big enought then the Dems can hold on to a majority in the congress for the 4 years of a Biden Presidency. That why a Super majority is important now. The super Majority in the House would be huge as they already have a majority in the house right now
@dermot235
What you are talking about is a very high dream. With Obama being on the lead early on at this time in 2008 could get a majority but quickly lost the house in the midterms. Biden is not even half of Obama. But if dreaming feels good, please carry on. I am telling as I see it. Are you seeing any signs of Biden winning a super majority? We are not even sure that Biden would win.
@St-Sinner The Dems controlled congress for most of the1940's 50's and 60's. It has happened before. How do you think the Voting rights act and the Civil rights act get passed. Those were the days when progressives actually got things done. Obama majority was not huge. Bidens may well be huge. Let's see what happens
@St-Sinner That's tru. But when the GOP started tis insane swing to the Right with Ronald Reagan, who would have known it would end up going this far. So the idea of the next 30 years or more moving to the Left is not out of the question. The Pendulum swings both ways. I live in Ireland and have seen my country go from being the most conservative country in Europe to the most liberal country in Europe in the space of 15 to 20 years. I never imagined I would see this happen
