What are your three most important" lessons for life" to learn . In this thread you can also have a future [Wishful] lesson to learn. If a particular person taught you that lesson already , please indicate who it was >
MY OWN answer to this exercise is
A Accept science {taught by my Chemistry. teacher aged 16 to 18yr}
B Use it to learn how to accept pleasure.
C Use it to learn how to give pleasure in equal amounts to B
Your wishful lesson for the future ?? Mine is
Learn how to always guarantee a job with a PA attached.
I learned:
The only person I can control and change is myself.
Take responsibility for my own behavior instead of blaming others.
To set boundaries with people and say "No."
On a more serious vain.....(a) learn to think...by parents.. learn how to think...by teachers... learn to think, or else...by life......and failing those.....learn to punt..but remember, most teams only have one thats successful
I like this repetition rams it home . Not sure about the the "but remember..." Some teams have silent non boastful ones who have the idea that leads to success but push others to the top of team management.
@Mcflewster thank you for the reply.
A. Seek safety in the heart of danger. Conflict is going to happen and if you act out of fear of it, it will clobber you twice as hard. Bruce Lee
B. “Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best. At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, The Notebooks of Lazarus Long
C. No matter where you go, there you are. Confucius
I love Robert Heinlein, but C'mon man.
@Storm1752 lol, just grabbed a fun one for this forum.
At my HS graduation (50+ yrs ago), the speaker said "If, in your 12 years of Education you have come to know how LITTLE you have learned, then you have learned MUCH".
Don't eat yellow snow
You didn't win the Nigerian lottery
Avoid women named Bob
There is an intriguing story behind each of these I am sure
@Fred_Snerd well that’s interesting.
@Fred_Snerd, Ah, thank you Billy Connelly used to say, ‘I’ll give you a tip, don’t eat yellow snow.’ (Scottish Comic).
@Fred_Snerd it wasnt a song
@Fred_Snerd actually it was friends of mine 30 years ago
@girlwithsmiles Why are comedians(both sexes) often right and especially Scottish ones ? - because they can come up with the most unexpected answer
@Mcflewster i think because they tell it like it is, Billy had me in tears once talking about his childhood.
@Mcflewster, @lerlo well Billy Connelly’s 75 and i saw it in a video 25 + years ago...so an oldie but goodie
