Having said that their satellite view has always been good, the old ones they did were so detailed that I can see my fathers bald head in the view of our back garden. But it would be really nice if they would update 'street view' which is getting badly out of date now. You wonder if they were not just using it as click bait, to collect information on where people lived, worked, holidayed and traveled, and now they have got their stats they are not interested anymore.

They likely have all that info without street view -- highly likely do if you have an (non rooted) Android device.
Open Street Maps encourages users to submit corrections, maybe Google does also.
