Ailing scientist is trying to save his life by becoming world's first full-fledged cyborg
'Think of it as a science experiment. This is cyborg territory, and I intend to be a human guinea pig to see just how far we can turn science fiction into reality'
We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. You will comply.
Resistance is futile.
If you haven't yet, read Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari. This sort of stuff will be the norm in the not all that distant future.
. . . just placed a request for the audiobook from my library
I have read Natural-born Cyborgs : Minds, Technologies, and the Future of Human Intelligence by Clark, Andy
@FearlessFly You will enjoy the book.

@Willow_Wisp Is that a picture of you? Impressive. I'm afraid I've never been that photogenic. Lol
@RichCC Sadly no, the actress was in Galaxina, her boyfriend killed her.
@Willow_Wisp. Drat.
Her boyfriend killed her? Wow. I'll have to look that up.
Wow, absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing, having cared for someone with Multiple System Atrophy Iβm glad heβs come up with an option for preventing food and water on the lungs. Canβt help but wish him all the best, and it can only mean better outcomes for others in the future.
After reading the article this idea is potentially horrifying or the coolest thing ever. Time will tell, I expect.

That would be interesting to me if there was some kind of "kill" command I could use if the reality was not to my liking.
The beaver says they lost the article? Wouldn't be my choice, I don't think I'd want to live anymore when my body wears out, I don't want to be dependent on caregivers or technology.

@FearlessFly if you follow the URL and search cyborg, itβll come up even if it moves again
