Why do Atheist like to talk about God so much?
Which God?
Anyway back to your question:
To help support those who question. As I did today with a young man who understands that religion (gods) is bullshit, but he is, like all of us, up against an extreme majority in society and his own family.
The bigger questions are why do people lie to each other and why do people cave to societies pressure?
But do I LIKE to talk about God ?? Not so much. I like to talk about religion and its impact on human beings. God fantasies are just kind of a sad side joke
I believe all the Christian garbage has moved way past a religion and into a brainwashing culture. These individuals believe they will be spared from a hell and scooped up by some light to live happily ever after . It may be a disappointment when the light just goes out?
For me? It's an affirmation result of being in the realm of reality. God is not real. He has and will always be a creation of our imagination.
We are all plotting against this imaginary fascist in the sky, what else?
Why does Leah Remini talk about Scientology?
Why does Lloyd Evans talk about Jehovah's Witnesses?
Why do Matt Dillahunty and Seth Andrews and Aaron Ra and thirty others discuss religion on YouTube?
Why does Shelly Segal sing about religion?
Same damn reason!
Makes perfect sense!
Talking about god and talking about not believing in god are two different things. I talk about not believing in god
I never talk about not believing in god when I’m around my religious friends as it’s pointless to have a confrontation with them on that. Hell most religious folks are a lot better people than the left wing nuts on this website!
i wonder that too and they do entirely too much thinking about it more than the Christians do deep thinking and posing questions religious ppl don't........... or my____believes but I don't what do it do gag
Same reason people who quit smoking talk about smoking or someone who stops eating gluten talks to everyone about gluten. I think it wears off after one gets used to being away from (name your poison.)
Speak for yourself. I very rarely do and seldom feel any need to. It's an important party of my identity and values, but nowhere near the most important part. I would say that part is my socialist values and political views.
Because humankind must end religion before religion ends humankind.
@MissKathleen They are inseparable if not synonymous.
@MissKathleen If we did, one of us would be obsolete.
I don't agree..I come from a family of atheists and we always try to be as rational, scientific and broad minded as possible and always avoid any discussions related to God
I made my post as ambiguous as possible. I capitalized Atheist and God intentionally not including 'all' atheists or excluding 'all' gods. My point is proven nonetheless. If I post about humanitarian causes or anything along those lines I receive 3 or 4 responses. If I include the word 'God' in my post I will receive over 100 replies. That's the point I was making with this post.
Because most atheist are surrounded by people that believe in a god. We have to constantly justify our lack of belief to dogmatic morons.
We have had religion force down our throats are whoo po le lives. This gives us a chance to voice our options to others that may understand.
Why do Christians? They don't believe in him either, their behavior proves it.
I think those atheists who talk aobut god beyond saying "god is a myth and isn't real" are mostly new to atheism and are still adjusting and are still int the process of redefining their beliefs.
There are also those who talk about god as "thought experiments".
