I’ve just been watching the devastation of the fires raging on the West Coast of America on my TV...and my heart goes out to everyone who has been affected. I have seen that DT has landed there to deflect the blame away from climate change...I’m sure his presence is as welcome as fart in a spacesuit to those who have lost everything but the clothes they stand in.
I just want to say to any of you in any of the areas of Northern California and Oregon which are affected, and I do know there are quite a few members from there, please take care and I hope you and your loved ones all manage to stay safe.
It's Very Smokey in Grants Pass.
Where is that?
@Marionville Southern Oregon.
Vancouver’s air quality is among the worst in the world, Environment Canada said Monday, as wildfire smoke continued to waft across the border from the United States, even reaching parts of Alberta.
An air quality advisory was issued for a seventh straight day in Vancouver and is expected to last into the weekend.
Relief will not come quickly for B.C. residents, as the air is expected to improve only marginally by Tuesday, said Blaine Lowry, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada.........more...........
We here in Western Washington are as affected as you. Going outside is considered risky. Also, the temperature has dropped.
@JackPedigo Yes, I know you're close to Victoria.
We are getting sky effects from the smoke on the opposite side of the country in Pennsylvania. That’s thousands of miles away.
I never realised it would be seen as far away as the eastern states like PA.!
@Marionville back in the 1920’s Dust Bowl times the dust was blowing from the plains (Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas) and landing on ships in the middle of the Atlantic.
@Barnie2years wow...I’d no idea!
I wish I could help somehow. The smoke has reached us.
That’s quite a distance!
@Marionville That's how bad it is. We have a few of our own fires, but it's Washington, Oregon, & California's smoke that is following the weather pattern up this way. My daughter sent photos yesterday & the lake was invisible in Kelowna. We could see the smoke here, I could could smell it in the house some.
