Prison After Presidency?
If Trump & Co are, under present law (or what's left of it), in many cases vulnerable to prosecution and imprisonment once they are out of office, I think this would be an additional incentive for them to do enormous harm to the US system just to stay in office, regardless of the actual will of the people. So, I urge that those concerned with carrying out a fair election and correct legal post-election procedures be informed by an understanding of the level of motivation and willingness to break the law that will likely characterize the Trump Administration's last-ditch efforts to stay in power.
The Congressional Democrats have not been able to do it for three long years. I do not believe they can ever do it. If anybody can do it, it is going to be the prosecutor of Southern District of New York.
Think about what Congressional Democrats ever did when we Democratic voters were so outaged by Bush and Cheney:
What happened? What did we demand? What did Obama do? Did we hold our lame, non-doer, selfish Democratic leaders accountable? Why are we adore Pelosi who has been there forever? Why did Hillary, Biden, Pelosi vote for the Iraq war? What punishment voters should give them?
It's too bad I worded it in this way, I can see how I'm getting responses about whether or not Trump would go to prison, but my goal was to shout out a warning that the threat of having to pay for their crimes (even if that possibility is low) is an extra incentive to the criminals to hang onto power. We should (especially considering the stakes) be erring on the side of over-estimating the chances they could somehow hang on to power (legally or illegally).
Democrats won't have to this time around, the States will take care of him. He'll be fleeing to Epstein's Island as soon as he can.
It will never happen. I'll take him leaving office eventually and our republic not disappearing.
