The president is unambiguously practicing fascism. This is no longer a question of partisan opinion, it is happening in the open, before our eyes. His open efforts to install a Supreme Court to his specifications, then invalidate the election to be installed into a second term is a direct assault on democracy. This is the epitome of fascism. The cherry on the sundae is that he has conned (mostly White)religious factions to be his most ardent supporters.

There is a passing similarity with fascism. Bur, the imbecile Trump's tactic is entirely self-serving. He wishes to be the absolute dictator within a society controlled by oligarchs. He has no real aspirations of national glory.
Ah, but the definitions of fascism I have read about are not primarily about national glory, nor are they about any particular economic policy agendas. Those things can vary and are not the central point of fascism. Fascism is all about a eerily Machiavelian dishonest strategy for duping an electorate into hsnding over the keys of a democracy to a dictator, who then murders the democracy. Nationalistic crowing is just one of the tools for simultaneously motivating and distracting voters so the deception can win. Trump makes stabs at claims of national glory. The fact he is pathetic at it is secondary. If his sheeple buy the shit he is peddling, it has served its purpose. What matters most to a fascist dictator is that he ( inevitably "he" ) always appear strong. The deceived can feel strong through the leader, if they show loyalty, though in reality they are being used and have no strength of their own. Trump has demonstrated this countless times in trashing his loyal minions at the slightest provocation.
