He was one of the great guitar players, I loved that solo he did " Eruption", that one blew me away, going to miss him and his playing.

It was that solo and the one in Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker” that started me on the Fretboard.

Last time I saw him over sixty years ago backstage at Carousal Ballroom on Market, he was wearing those reddish brown clogs with the wooden soles, with Chick Churchill! The long, the tall and the short!!!

This is an in memorium, not a discussion about who was the greatest guitarist in the world, which is entirely opinion anyway.
That’s a matter of opinion. But this man has had a huge influence.........especially to teenagers of the late 70s to late 80s. Alvin Lees talent certainly can’t be denied, but Eddie truly was generational, especially with his use of the Flanger guitar effect as shown on gems like “And the cradle will rock”......”Atomic Punk” and “Unchained”.
@SeaRay215ex I agree, but the reason that’s the case is that there was a dearth of great guitarists at the time. It wasn’t until the mid 80s that we started seeing some impressive guitarists in that genre. SRV was an exception.
