I figure it's all about equal.
I'm atheist and don't follow Satan. They are christian and don't follow Jesus.
I'm not evil and they ain't so good
They follow the Jesus who is going to send everyone who does not believe in him to hell.
Yea!! And the Jesus that loves them sooo Dearrly!! Lol
I followed Jesus last week when I saw him driving next to me, and I asked him if he still owned that restaurant that made great tacos and if he will reopen soon. Unfortunately he told me that he had to close it because of the pandemic. I hope he can reopen some day, he made great food, I didn't pray to him though.
We're all human, there's nothing much separating us other than opinions and wishful thinking.
Some dream of surrounding themselves with people that only think like themselves while others are willing to enjoy the full range of intellectual exploration.
Then there's the people that will hang on to bad ideas until they're dead evidence be damned.
For myself I find it helpful to keep mostly to myself.
I was raised as a fundamentalist in rural Alabama, and I will never be able to trust groups of people for that reason, groups of people in my experience are unreasonable.
If you were a transgender progressive liberal from Trump country (when I was a kid it was Wallace) you would have trust issues too.
Just treat people how you want to be treated.
100% correct!! As long as you don’t bother me, I don’t bother you. All that matters is your character and who you are as a person. As long as your not manipulating or controlling and not out to hurt anyone for your own benefit, that’s number 1 above all.
In my experience, religion taught me nothing about ethics. They only provided rules that I was supposed to follow in order to remain in their church. It was only after discovering that the church was a scam that I did my research and discovered how to live a truly ethical life. So, I'd say that atheists are not equal to religionists. We are much better when it comes to ethical behavior. At least that is my own personal experience.
Mine was similar. As someone who went to parochial school for 7 years, had Religious Instruction for 2, went to church for 18 years and baptized as catholic, I see what your saying about the church being a scam.......it is. And I remember hearing stories from a number of attendees about extra-marital affairs. At age 18 I said enough. But 9 years were to pass before I claimed myself to be a full blown Atheist. I figured out for myself on how to treat others as I liked to be myself. Best decision I ever made.
