Confuse not the minds of the ignorant, they'll only hate you for it. In other words, you won't reach or be able to change their minds any more than you could a simple dog or cat. All you'll get for it is grief and possibly assault. I also agree with prometheus below, the political thinking of most people, as well as their musical tastes, are usually just a matter of what environment or system they are born into and raised in. Rural and southern Americans end up liking country music. Urban and coastal white Americans end up liking rock and other more urban genres. With music or politics, most people never change from their origins unless they leave their original environment or get a lot of exposure to new thinking or music thru personal relationships later on in their lives that influence them.

It's a shame that so many don't get much exposure to information, and culture, and ideas outside of the bubble they're born into.

@RoboGraham To be honest, I think the major two reasons they don't, besides those who are born poor and stay that way, is laziness and not having the courage explore changing themselves.

So unfortunately true.

I wish I could throw a chair during arguments where I work. That's how you can tell the difference between real life and "reality" (note the quotation marks) TV. They do things absolutely nobody would do in real life.

Because in real life, nobody has a crew to come in and clean up after them.

But HALF a loaf of 'socialism' is better than none, a foundation to build on, which you refuse to understand.
You cynics make me sick.
In fact, you cynics are so cynical it's hard to figure out what you're cynical ABOUT.
NOBODY is socialist enough for you.
Remind me not to vote for you for president.

Give it another try. You can get this.

@RoboGraham No, I'm good.
Have you voted for the Green Party yet, or just not bothering at all this year?

@Storm1752 (it's satire bro)

Norway would be socialist enough for me. But, as the meme says, it's capitalist with strong welfare. So something that's not even socialism would be socialist enough for me. That's not some impossible standard, it can be done. And how is it cynical to be optimistic about the potential this country has to better itself?

I'm flattered that you think I could run for president but I'm too young.

Oh, and yeah, I did vote Green. Never felt better about any vote I've ever cast.

@RoboGrahamOh, and yeah, I did vote Green.Noted ..as it appears Storm1752 knows you better than I, and perhaps most…

@Varn

Come on varn, don't underestimate yourself. You knew I was voting green.

@RoboGraham, @Varn I've been tracking him.

@Storm1752 ..as I’ve been about this > < close to making him invisible 😉

@Storm1752

"I've been tracking him." Pretty creepy

@RoboGraham Yes you are. It's very creepy and flat out WRONG to equate Democrats and Republicans in any way. Electorally you're about as invisible and irrelevant as they come. As far as I'm concerned you're worse than conservatives because you should have known better but threw away your vote. Hopefully it won't matter and Biden ushers in a new day in American politics anyway, but it'll be no thanks to you.
It should go without saying I agree with just about everything the Green Party stands for. If we had a parliamentarian system and/or the Green Party presidential candidate had a snowball's chance in hell of winning, I might have voted for him. But he doesn't. It's a wasted vote. Congratulations for standing on your rockbed purist principles! Hope you are proud of yourself. I know you are.

@Storm1752

No, voting how you choose to vote isn't creepy, that's freedom, that's normal.

Stalking however... very creepy dude.

@RoboGraham No, in this case voting the way you chose is not only creepy, it's STUPID.
Well done.

@Storm1752

Thank you

I suppose it would seem that way to a hyper partisan like yourself. Still, nothing creepy about it.

@RoboGraham I'm not hyper partisan; I just know an obvious choice when I see one, unlike some who are 'too cool for school.'
Too hip to trip.
Too smart to fart.
(Btw, "creepy" is usually a word women use to put down men. Using it to put down another man is creepy in a Trumpian sense: like hitting on your own hot daughter.)

@Storm1752

Well then we are the same. I knew an obvious choice too, and I voted for him, the best candidate on the list by far.

@RoboGraham If achieving heaven on Earth is your goal, I might agree it's obtainable, but not likely given present circumstances
If on the other hand your goal is GOING to heaven, the Green Party is the way to go.
Let me know how that works out for you.

@Storm1752

Voting green will lead me to heaven? Cool, another reason to vote for them 😆

Let me know how being a lackey for the duopoly works out for you.

@RoboGraham I'd be better off giving money to the Libertarians than the Greens. As cartoonish as they are, at least there's the possibility the former will siphon off enough votes from the Republicans to nudge things in Joe's direction.
The LAST thing I'd do is give money to the latter, even though I said I agree with them on just about everything.
Why?
Because I have as much chance of being president as they do.

@RoboGraham The "duopoly..." What a ridiculous made-up word, devoid of meaning, all sound a fury, signifying nothing. Sounds ultra-sophisticated, puts you in a select class of superior know-it-alls you think.
You're wrong.
Now, will you finally leave me alone or are we going to continue this forever?
You'll never get the last word; you might as well give up now.
You're wrong, but if you want to keep making a fool out of yourself go right ahead.

@Storm1752

Well, you are the one who is stalking me. You can leave me alone whenever you like.

I've no need to continue with this. It's clear that you only see things from an MSNBC perspective and any attempt to expand your horizons is a waste.

@Storm1752

Okay, I notice you went back and altered one of your comments.

"(Btw, "creepy" is usually a word women use to put down men. Using it to put down another man is creepy in a Trumpian sense: like hitting on your own hot daughter.)"

What??? Women don't have a monopoly on the word. If someone is being a creeper, (as you are currently) you call them creepy. The gender of the person being creeped on is irrelevant. And this idea that accurately calling a creeper, who is stalking you, creepy is somehow 'trumpian" is just about the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week. And I hear a great deal of absurd shit.

It's obvious logic doesn't work.

Yes, Right Wing Vogons are impossible to get through to. Their emotional fear of "socialism" is beyond reason. They don't fear huge companies using them up and splitting them out; they don't fear right wing parties screwing them over; they don't fear right wing corporate power stealing their information and taking their liberty, but "socialism!!" -- rattles them with fear. They don't understand political philosophy, and they don't do critical thinking. I've given up on them.

Yup, decades of red scare propaganda and a lack of worldly knowledge will cause that in people.

It's very like religion, you mostly adopt the system you're born into.

So if they were born in a country like Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland they would be "socialists" or humanist capitalists or whatever you want to call them. And they would feel sorry for the poor saps living in America and tear their hair out over the insanity of how inefficient or social systems are.

A very small number would hate how their country runs and want to leave. Those would probably be the ultra rich, the zero empaths, sociopaths, and psychopaths.

@prometheus there's some truth to that, but truth is most non extreme people just want a mixed economy, with a balance of public and private enterprise, and a fair taxation and social safety net with quality public services like health and education. Hardly a big ask in the 21st century. But no, the lunatic Right call this socialism and the end of the world. Ridiculous.

@David1955 I agree. It's extremely galling for so-called Republicans to be labelling people who just want something similar to the Nordic version of capitalism / socialism as "radical liberals". They seem to want to create the false equivalency between quite moderate liberals with folks who would literally storm and occupy government buildings with assault rifles, or plot to kidnap elected representatives because they aren't happy being asked to give a damn about their fellow American's health and welfare by making the tiniest personal sacrifices.

I used to love that show until I found out what assholes they were.
