If people often get your name wrong, would you still correct them or get tired of it? Many people repeatedly call me Val, Vanessa, Victoria. My friend said to always correct them. I’ve grown tired of it so I just answer to those names now LOL
That's got to be really irritating. I'm lucky, people usually get my name right, it's an easy one. Except that sometimes people call me Julie, which drives me crazy.
Sometimes people call other people the wrong name on purpose.
They obviously never read an Archie comic book.
If they mispronounce my last name, I correct them if I'm going to have further interaction with them. If they call me by the wrong first name, I wait until they say it several times before I politely and discretely tell them my name is Joe. No big deal, I've done it myself, no need to be an asshole about it. People make mistakes.
I have friends I’ve known for almost fifty years still spell my name Terri instead of Terry. And we exchange Christmas cards every year with my name in big letters. What are you going to do? Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.
Terri is a girl's name, usually Theresa. Terry is a guy's name, usually Terrance. Okay of it's a phone related text typo, otherwise pretty stupid. I only send Season's Greetings cards, part of my War on Christmas for the "holidays"
@barjoe I do an annual newsletter. At one time I used to send out over a hundred. Even used to do a French translation version and sent them to friends in France, Japan and Slovakia. Now I send PDF versions overseas and about 25 paper copies. It isn’t your standard newsletter, people actually ask for them.
@Barnie2years Do they ask for Terri or Terry? I still support the war on Christmas.
@barjoe it’s only one. They were both Amish growing up, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
@Barnie2years Lancaster? We're neighbors of sorts. I used to date a girl from Millersville. Her daughter used to work at an amazing restaurant Hadyn Zug's in East Peterburg. Sadly it's no more. Do you remember it Terry?
@barjoe I’ve eaten there a few times when it was open. I’ve dated a few Millersville gals myself over the years!
@Barnie2years Yeah great place, by far the nicest place in Lancaster. Would've rated highly in Philly, a real foodie city. GF lived in the town of Millersville, she went to LaSalle.
