I know noone around here would say it was an act of God, though I've heard it said jokingly of those on (celebrity) left. And why ppl's suffering and death would be the butt of celebrity jokes and high tech advertising campaigns and hollyweird, including being a movie plot (weren't we all on lockdown through this? Who was allowed to make movies? WHY?) is beyond any decent human beings guess. Maybe we can figure it out here as on the whole this appears a decent bunch of ppl. Guesses anyone?
Sorry, I know this is meant to be light hearted, your commect, but the government handling of all of this election stuff has temporarily left me without a sense of humor. Don't take it personally.

It took nearly 10 years for AIDS / HIV treatments to be developed after it was discovered. So, I’m supposed to rush to put something that was developed this fast into my system?
I think I’d rather do illegal drugs.

Everyone has to choose what they wish to risk, and I would never tell anyone what to do. But for me given the choice between a small part of an inactive, 'dead', virus in my system and a whole 'live' one, I will take the part one every time.
These vaccines were not developed in a vacuum, and those decades of hiv research actually paved the way for today's breakthroughs on Covid. I understand the suspicion, but science actually IS real. ....and, The Donald can go fuck himself. He wants credit while simultaneously denying the pandemic. He did not develop these, no matter how "biggly" he claims his brain is. We are supposed to forget that he, himself, has been a super spreader agent. His only genius is his finely tuned con artist instincts. Donald Trump is Vladimir Putin's perfect storm weapon to sew cynicism and mistrust of facts in the American public. Your sentiment is music to that tyrant's ears. I won't go along with that Putin agenda.
