Some folks say "everything happens for a reason"... is that a subsitute for "it's all in God's plan" ? Personally, I think they may just be trying to put meaning on things that don't go the way they want or expect. I believe that we, humans, create everything that happens in our lives by each and every choice we make. Be it conscious or otherwise. This, by the way, is a major cause for my depression. Knowing ... believing.... this, leads me to think that EVERYTHING is a direct result of my actions. It's overwhelming and I feel like crap OFTEN. I push through it, do what needs doing, but I cannot be angry with anyone but myself for most everything. It's frustrating af.

Whatever happens in life can be learned from and/or used AS the reason for making a better future for yourself.
Things may not happen for a reason (unless they have been caused by an outside influence) but they can be the reason for doing something else, but whether or not that is so is up to you.

I think it might be more appropriate to say ,all that happens - I can make up a good reason for .

ys it does seem to point to predetermination wwhihc in my book is rather offensive maybe people don't like the idea of a random death, or life and want security.
