How the wealthy are controling our government

If you have not read the book DARK MONEY THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF THE BILLIONIARES PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS YOU ARE ABLE. The book outlines how the libertarians have taken over the republican party and are trying to subvert our government by using foundations with great amounts of money to influence our universities and schools even using tactics like youth groups based upon the nazi's model to achieve their way. Trump is a little puddle compared to the Koch,Olin,Mellon and other foundations that are trying to form our government and laws, THIS IS THE MOST SCARY BOOK I HAVE READ IN YEARS. I read it in two days as I just could not put it down.Foundations like the CATO and HERITIGE are being used to make your laws and government.

Don't forget conservative billionaire Rebecca Mercier who pulls Beithart's strings and forced Steve Bannion out simply on her wish.

...and Mercer too.

That'll teach me to post before reading any comments 🙂

@Angelface 🙂 They're a father and daughter team of nastiness.

Angleface You outline a very good action plan which I have also been using. It is easy with our resources to give up but it is important that we do what we can with what we have. btroje we need your help . Keep up the work and maybe we will overcome.

I feel so powerless anymore I don't think I could read it

Knowledge is power too.

@Angelface as an individual what are you going to do?

@btroje There is power in numbers. Read, educate, think about what you've read and what you've learned and relate that information to your philosophies and what is important to you. Start locally, state or area-wide or nationally, finding like mannered people and organizations.
Enroll in classes or start writing letters, keep up with the news. Start small, stay true to your ideals and work up to where you want to be. Look at those around you for ideas, for example, the students from the Parkland school or those from Black lives matter or atheist groups.
You do not need to agree with every organization about, but you can learn a great deal from how they operate and assimilate that format into your plans.
Give a little to make things happen.

@Angelface I don't see your age on your profile. I will soon be 62. We are fighting and refighting the same issues with some slightly different variables. Been there done that

@btroje I will soon be 67. I'm from the sixties and started young debating life and the pursuit of happiness at the family dinner table. I have an interest and degrees in genetics and history and feel if you look at the nineteen twenties through nineteen forty-three, you will see startling similarities which are only becoming more evident.
Not all of the names have changed either. Both periods had startling discoveries and inventions, widespread unrest, dispersal of large groups of people and erupting conflict, with changes in status/old world governments and institutions.
You see the same happening in the time around America's break from Britain and the French revolution. In all of recorded history, there have been only thirty years without war, and that is just in what's been recorded.
A friend believes that this is all tied to evolution and another friend thinks this is entwined with climate change. There are many, many theories but there are still ways to step up and make a difference even if we see only incremental progress.
