Hello!
My name is Fady, and after years of being a christian, I became irreligious and I no longer believe in the existence of a god.
I live in Egypt, and needless to say that irreligious people are always treated with disrespect and hurt, since my country does not respect freedom of rights here.
That's why I am here; because at this phase, I need to feel supported and beloved by you ladies and gentlemen, even when I chose to be an atheist.
It will really help me feeling safer, and it will help me deal with the constant peer pressure around me that I cannot easily avoid.
I also hope to find the love of my life here.

I feel for you Fady. I can only imagine what it must be like, and I'm horrified by things I've heard. We have religious bigots here too, but it's mostly annoying, not life threatening. I'm glad though that you found this site, which is supportive, and you might find someone of like mind and heart. I hope so, because I also believe love is what matters most.

@LovinLarge Really? You're going to take issue with a friendly fellow member here about something as benign and well-meaning as that? That's the way you say hello, troll? It's things like that which prompted me to avoid this site years ago, after being one of the founding first members.
@AlbertSchepis Not taking issue, just clarifying. I think most people would agree with you and I think it's an interesting topic for discussion. Name calling unnecessary.
Welcome, I can not imagine what you are going through to be surrounded by that much religion. I will say be safe in being exposed. I would hope you can put on a good enough facade, but also know that is not who you are.
Hopefully you are comfortable finding community here, but also there are lots of podcasts/Youtube/Articles that I find I am enjoying when it comes to reasonable thinking about all these controversial issues.
