On the news just now. The Oxford - Astra Zeneca vaccine may be approved for UK tomorrow.
The great thing is that this vaccine can be stored without refrigeration, can be produced rapidly and costs no more than €5.

Any vaccine with an efficacy of even 30% has another, unsung influence. It reduces the "R" number, making it less of a pandemic.

70% efficacy for this vaccine according to Reuters, but they are a bit more hopeful that that is a good rate.

70% initially. However, 90% in some later cases.

@Petter sounds good. Especially given that catching the virus itself doesn’t seem to offer any protection.

What I've read about it is that it has a 60% efficacy.

I was just reading about the Chinese vaccines that only have an 80% effectiveness. Despite that when people have the vaccine they are protected against any of the severe complications of covid and only have a mild case. I wonder if that is true for this vaccine as well. I could survive a mod case how about you?

@Lorajay This vaccine does indeed mollify the effects in those who become infected. None of the thousands of people in the study became seriously infected.
