It often seems that without the foreign press, I would know very little about what is really going on in the world.

We say the same thing, the BBC is incredibly biased.
Please educate me as to the type of bias and slant provided by the BBC.
@Lorajay
The BBC are extremely left wing, bending the knee to SJW opinions and "wokeness" and yet are hypocritical and so will support the government of the day almost unquestioningly to protect the legitimacy of the TV licence fee.
There is a tendency therefore to lie by omission, anti government stories found on three of the other four main channels (Networks) will not appear on the BBC (Channel 4 on the whole ends to follow the BBC lead other than in SJW matters where they are far worse and is even more "woke" ) possibly, this is possibly because the BBC and 4 tend to engage in a lot of joint ventures.
If a true critique is wanted of UK law, politics and atrocities, it is necessary to seek out foreign reporting on channels such as CNN which used to broadcast on cable channels in the UK but no longer, RT which the UK government is desperately trying to shut down, Al-jazeera and independent news outlets on the internet.
They don’t need to filter their investigations through the financial filter American journalists must: the fear of canceled subscriptions or viewers changing the channel.
That's because many foreign media sources are not invested in maintaining American empire, our corrupt government, or our system of capitalism. Thus, they are free to speak the truth about America, unlike our corporate media.
