When reality hits faith head on!!!
The mentally ill are starting to out number the sane ones on this planet!!!
Misinformed and indoctrinated. There are mentally ill atheists as well.
@barjoe
Your point is??
What a completely asinine statement to make!!!
You sure sound like a Bible thug!!!
@of-the-mountain A Bible thug? Because I admit there are atheists suffering from mental illness and believers who are not? Believers are "misinformed and indoctrinated" not necessarily mentally ill. That was my point!! That explains my asinine statement. Are you pissed off? Did you forget to take your meds?
@barjoe
You obviously forgot yours!!!
Just like to fuck with those who only know how to state the overtly obvious!
@of-the-mountain Some people always have to be the victim and lash out at others. When they are random strangers, I don't give their rants a second thought.
@barjoe
Great!!!
I really do not give a fuck what you think!!!
If it really mattered you would not respond, so typical of the moronic idiots who pronounce themselves worthy of being so useless!!
@of-the-mountain What the fuck is your problem?
You just proved your own point about being unstable!!!
LOL!!!
You so easy to fuck with dim wit!!!
@of-the-mountain You're a jagoff.
Thank you, coming from you a complete moronic idiotic mentally unstable blown out burn out!!!
Why are you so stupid to respond, just another latent degenerate who will always be last in line!!!
LMAO!!!
It’s a lot cuter in cartoons than in real life.
If you live by “faith” you can easily take science for folly, since you’ve based you life on.folly and have far too much hubris to acknowledge how silly your grip on reality has become.
They're a bunch of mental defectives.
Although I will not recommend living by faith I have evidence that it is a very human thing to do . Evidence..... ? ...... ALL the martyrs who many people would still not classify as 'prone to folly'.
@Mcflewster Screw the martyrs, they're made up, the only evidence of martyrs that's confirmable and external to scripture is Peter and John. All the rest are almost certainly made up. Seriously, deny Christ or be beheaded, any normal person would deny then later ask for forgiveness. Basically if Christian stories about early church Christianity are true then Christianity is truly the faith for dumb asses.
"In the end, I’m afraid we simply don’t know. The problem is that our sources – even the ones completely favorable to the earthly disciples of Jesus — are virtually silent about them. We know almost precisely nothing about what they thought, what they did, and what they came to believe. Paul says nothing about them (of the twelve, he mentions only Peter and John). The book of Acts portrays Peter, and to a much lesser degree John, as important before and immediately after the conversion of Paul, but then they themselves virtually disappear from the narrative. And the other nine or ten are discussed almost not at all.
Why is that? I really don’t know. But my hunch is that the author of Acts simply hadn’t heard any stories about the things they said and did. Why would that be? Again, I really don’t know. Was it because he simply wanted to focus on the main people: Peter, James, (John,) and Paul? But why were these the main people? Why wasn’t it important to know what the others were doing? Is it that his sources of information didn’t give him anything? Is it that they in fact didn’t do anything important? Did they just go back home to Galilee to eke out an existence until they died? Do we even know that they came to believe in the resurrection?"
~Bart Ehrman
And those are disciples... if they aren't mentioned why mention anyone else.
Thomas seems to be a fully made up "inspirational" yarn, but even if it's true, so what?
@Willow_Wisp what about all the martyrs out side the Bible who "Die for their faith" ?
@Willow_Wisp This post is why I will not use the Bible to support any argument or point scoring unless it is humanitarian in nature.
Yes I actually believe that the Bible was a crude attempt at science. The science of deception.
