Everything is nothing.
We all cease to matter in the end.
What is your complaint that would extend beyond your memory...?
I doubt there's any.
It's best to live your own life the way you want and let everybody be.

I see life differently. We are all a bunch of recycled atoms. This unites us, makes us one with each other and the universe. When we die, our atoms live on, recycled again. I find this exciting. Everyone and everything has their own special unique place but a part of us lives on. This is just a 2 min clip if you're interested

We're not nothing. First, the Socratic question, if a tree falls, and nobody hears it, did it really fall? NO. the point of the question is to demonstrate that our reality is limited by our perception, and things that are outside of our perception are as good as non existant.
We are the center of our own universe of perception. But, we need each other, and much of our perception is shared experience. Also, suffering is real, and most human suffering is caused by each other, inflicted upon each other. That is one great lesson from history.
Third, feelings are real, and important. We need each other, we cause each other's suffering, and we're supposed to treat individuals the way they want to be treated.
We are not cosmic dust. We are each the center of our own universe of perception, but we have so much in common. If you use your heart as a compass, it should connect you to other people.
All of this can't be thrown aside and called "nothing". You're a human being. It's subjective, but the things we have in common explain great and incredible truth.

Everything that you just said, although beautiful...won't matter to anyone in about 48 hours...people are no different.
We act as if our existence is meaningful but it's merely perspective.

The only things that matter are the things that matter to you, in this moment. from moment to moment we change as we experience another thought, and what may matter now, may not matter tomorrow, or then again, it may matter for awhile longer. life is but to be lived and is quite difficult to put into words, for any and every time we attempt to explain we come to another fork in thought that doesn't seem to fit, and it can get you quite dizzy. I have but one rule in life, and that is that I will never intentionally harm or hurt anyone.

My complaint that would extend beyond my memory? You mean a concern or cause that is bigger than me? Almost anything other than the care and feeding of my own body and mind are bigger than me. My wife, my children and grandchildren, my contributions (recognized / heralded or not) to making the world a better place. No one needs to recognize or honor such things, so long as I do. In fact, in general, no one will. If you live this life with an expectation of thanks, appreciation, respect or even kindness, love, or loyalty, you're going to be disappointed more often than not.

But ... I believe in all those things and my commitment to them has been "worth it" to me. If someone else comes along and undoes my little role in advancing humanity, it's their loss, but I did my part while I was here.

Indeed your right

Care to add anything?

yes that humans can't live and let live, in fact far from it. we are going to destroy ourselves with our greed and overpopulation, exploiting everything. it's just terrible what we take with us.

Everything is nothing, and yet, here we are just the same. How is it that something can arise from nothing? You can pull all the petals from a rose and despite one’s best observations and measurements... fail to find its beauty. We “create” our own reality, but only half of it... certain aspects of reality don’t care about our opinions. Just making conversation... feel free to challenge or add to any of that.

How do you even know this is reality?
How do you know this isn't a simulation?
Thank you for your comment.

Of course it's a simulation 😉 . Everything we "know" of is a "re-creation" of the universe in our proximity, based on the extrapolations of our mind and senses. Beyond that? What difference does it make? If this is the "realest" reality that it is possible to know... let's just skip the extra steps and call it real. Is a cake an "illusion", just because it's really sugar, water, eggs, flour, etc..? I tend to think not... the truth of the subordinate orders of sophistication and complexity that comprise the "cake" are not more real than the "cake" as we see it from our human perspective and scale. The things that are real that we perceive and understand, exist along side the things that are real that we do not yet perceive or understand. One does not preclude the other, as I see it. Human perception is constantly evolving. As we get better at perceiving, we can see further and bigger, as well as closer and smaller. On many occasions, breakthroughs have pushed the very horizons of our ability to understand the universe... we are always finding something beyond the edge of what we thought the edge was.

A good argument to just live...... Experience life while it lasts and not spend wasted time critiquing it

Hell to the yeah❤

You sound depressed

Why do you say that?

Are you saying that nothing matters, ergo, hedonism is justified? If so, I heartily disagree.

What's wrong with doing what you want so long as you don't hurt anyone else?
If that's considered hedonism to you, what's wrong with that?

@FinchiMcQ A lot. Many things DO matter -- things worth fighting for, and destructive things well worth resisting. If you are not willing to stand up and be counted, YOU don't matter.

Thats the way I live now. Go with the flow.

I don't understand your question on a complaint?

2

Very nicely said. Beautiful prose.

Thank you, beautiful?

Complaint that would extend beyond my memory? I don't quite understand.
