A fastidious church smirch search would have averted this facetious fashionista falsehood.
It shows Pope Benny being helped with his mantle on the occasion of the celebration of the First Vespers and Te Deum prayers in St Peter's basilica at the Vatican on 31 December 2007, don't you know.
'Twould appear that Benny had a fondness for reviving costumery from past pontifications and somewhat flamboyant chapeaux (not that there's anything wrong with being fond of chapeaux).
This scurrilous smear incurred the rebuke, "The Pope, ... does not wear Prada, but Christ".
