I found this chart a few days ago in a search I did for World Religions Timeline... I especially like the location component which Dan Harper combined with this time line he created in 2015. I like it because it makes it so easy to see the big picture aspect of world religions development.

To me, this particular chart so clearly reveals the consistent differences in the global psychology that was involved in the propagation of the different types of religions within the corresponding human areas of government and control efforts, which led to the existence of all these various different concepts of truth, deity, and options of ultimate fate.

What is striking to me is that once one dips one’s mind below this high level and enters the realm of a specific regions propaganda writings, all the rest of the world, and that global/big picture perspective simply disappears, and ones mind is easily overwhelmed by the quagmire of absolute certainty and authority with which those writings were crafted. The authors and those who commissioned and controlled them certainly knew what they were attempting to achieve.

But I think the global perspective, as more of these types of comprehension aids are produced and dispersed throughout the inquiring public, it will gradually become more clear and will eventually expose the entire process and people will realize what the actual truth really is:

We are simply an accident here, and we are all alone here, all on our own...

And all of the historical division, fighting, and the destruction it has produced and is still producing, along with the astronomical expense in funds, resources, technology, and scientific research that are consumed by the "defensive" weapons technology in our world, is only contributing to our own misery and to our own eventual destruction.

Unless science and technology can someday produce it, there is no after life... there is no salvation. The best that we can ever hope for is to instill peace, trust, cooperation, and control in our global relationships so that the currently MASSIVE costs that we all consume in continuously destroying and hurting each others civilizations can some day be used instead to share and build and heal and refine and improve our civilizations, to enhance our lives on this planet instead of all of the stupid waste we have so far conducted, especially in the name of our various and alternatingly "all powerful" gods and religions, which only WE have continuously created and spuriously driven and maintained.

Our own fears and stupidities have always been our own worst enemies.

"...and ones mind is easily overwhelmed by the quagmire of absolute certainty and authority with which..."

"...and people will realize what the actual truth really is:

best of luck with that ok

@EarnestEccentric i'm thinking maybe you missed the hypocrisy there, where i quoted?

@EarnestEccentric well, they scold about "absolute certainty" and then go on to spout "what the actual truth really is" in the very next sentence

religious thought is only open if you abandon your existing beliefs to follow theirs

as opposed to the Bible, test everything, and keep what is good
