Tomorrow is the Anniversary of the start of the Civil War.Personally I would be if they would secede again.Lincoln had a chance to free the slaves in the union and offer freedom and sanctuary in the north for those who lived in the south. The war was unnecessary.Today the biggest obstacle to prosperity and a more perfect union are the southern states and they're continual obstruction and trapped in the past mindset. If they continue with they're nonsense, I would throw them out!
Isn't secession of the left and the right more likely, leaving a poverty-stricken maga?
The Civil War was made necessary when the South seceded. The Civil War was necessary to eradicate slavery from this continent. What was unnecessary was appeasement. Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis should have been apprehended at Appomattox and Richmond, tried for treason and brought before a firing squad. There would be no obstacle to a more perfect union if the United States had not let southerners rewrite history. Lincoln probably wouldn't have been assassinated. The Civil War was very necessary, they should have finished the job.
You're probably right. I'm just so tired of the right wing BS! It doesn't matter what the issue is from abortion to drugs you name it. It's like 2 different types of citizens who will never compromise about anything, in marriage they call it" irreconcilable differences" this leaves nothing left but divorce. There is no shared center or values, even culture. After trump I doubt the nation will endure.
As always history repeat itself with new faces, same old bodies!!!
Where would the "snowbirds" go in the winter, southern Ohio?
They're already here in Utah!
The Civil war, a history lesson in what happens when OG fascist (Confederates) start some shit so they can keep oppressing their fellow humans.
This new batch doesn’t want the war they keep trying to provoke.
Yes, he Civil War was unnecessary. But, the Confederacy forced it on the Union when its forces attacked Fort Sumter without provocation.
Second, Lincoln was always against slavery. The reason that h did not issue an emancipation proclamation earlier was that he hoped to be able to draw the South into negotiations to end the war. When it became obvious that would not work, he acted.
Third, I grew up in the racist deep south. But, I do not want them to secede today. I want our society to force the people of the south to realize just how destructive and retarding their beliefs are.
The attack on Ft Sumter made it absolutely necessary.
