"As the Arabs see the Jews"
His Majesty King Abdullah,
The American Magazine
November, 1947
Summary
This fascinating essay, written by King Hussein’s grandfather King Abdullah, appeared in the United States six months before the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In the article, King Abdullah disputes the mistaken view that Arab opposition to Zionism (and later the state of Israel) is because of longstanding religious or ethnic hatred. He notes that Jews and Muslims enjoyed a long history of peaceful coexistence in the Middle East, and that Jews have historically suffered far more at the hands of Christian Europe. Pointing to the tragedy of the holocaust that Jews suffered during World War II, the monarch asks why America and Europe are refusing to accept more than a token handful of Jewish immigrants and refugees. It is unfair, he argues, to make Palestine, which is innocent of anti-Semitism, pay for the crimes of Europe. King Abdullah also asks how Jews can claim a historic right to Palestine, when Arabs have been the overwhelming majority there for nearly 1300 uninterrupted years? The essay ends on an ominous note, warning of dire consequences if a peaceful solution cannot be found to protect the rights of the indigenous Arabs of Palestine.
The US is sending military aid to the wrong side. They ought to be sending antitank and anti-aircraft weapons to the Palestinians!
And the Symington Amendment means Chosanistan shouldn't be getting any military aid from the US.
Maybe if they had to learn to murder on their own dime... they'd stop.
I look at the pictures of Palestinian dead and injured, mangled almost to a point beyond recognition, suffering in agony and grief and terror if alive, the children without any understanding as to why... as I would seeing high beams on the road at night while driving. Looking directly at them for any length of time would burn their images into my retinas forever. I need to remain able to function, that I might reach my destination. Palestine will be free.

Seems like there are a lot of atheist PEPs (Progressive Except for Palestine).
Israelis act as if saying their God is a real estate agent makes it so.
While I'm totally opposed to the Israeli "settlements", I think it fair to say the Palestinians haven't stopped firing rockets . . .
and it's fair to say that Palestinians have stopped being attacked and their land continuously annexed away. They are already like siting ducks waiting to be shot
International law allows for an occupied people to resist with force. The Israelis have been committing war crimes pretty much from the beginning. Their collective punishment is a big part of that. So is their dispossessed of Palestinian inhabitants.
Israel should just give the Palestinians what they want (sarcasm intended):
@racocn8 - Israel is the one who wants it all. They refuse a one-state solution as they prefer minority rule.
How about this? One side "cuts the cake," the other side "chooses the slice." Israel would never agree to that because, like I said, Israelis want to steal it all, bankrolled by their Uncle Sugar. Maybe they could at least learn to murder on their own dime?
@WilliamCharles The world is not a fair place. The Palestinians are humans and deserve fair treatment, but as long as they pursue perpetual religious jihad, that level of pathos simply causes people to look away. Frankly, many other groups are more pathetic and more blameless. The Palestinians have sunk so far down on that list that they are like Kim, staging crap to get attention. They need a different PR agent.
@racocn8 - God as a dispenser of property rights is a Chosenite claim
"'My God says so' is not an argument, and an argument plus 'my God says so' is not a better argument."

@WilliamCharles Suggesting that the Jewish Chosenite is wrong gets you absolutely nowhere. Who is your audience? Jews and Muslims and Christians all believe the most asinine bullshit. All religion is insanity, but right now, Islam has a surplus of offensive actors. At least Israel curries favor by trading technology and seeking tourism. What do Palestinians do? Islam remains #1 in degrading Palestinians, and is way ahead of Israel on that. It shows, and that's why Palestinians get no traction.
@racocn8 - nonsense. One of the big notions involved in Manifest Destiny relative to US history and the indigenous was that they were "heathen savages."
I don't care what the Palestinians believe as it has no bearing with regard to their history living in Palestine, and a sizable number of them are Christian. Christian Zionists support Chosanistan, not out of love for the Chosenites, but rather due to their role in Christian end times prophecy.
Palestinians fire a lot fewer rockets than the Israeli's do. There are also several times more Palestinians killed by Israeli's than the other way around. Palestinians usually only fire rockets as a response to Israel, and because of the settlements.
There is no excuse for allowing Israel to do what they are doing with the Palestinians. They just simply have to stop.
@WilliamCharles A "one-state solution" would be the same thing as the destruction of Israel as a sovereign country. That IS what you are suggesting, right?
I'm not saying that would be a good or bad idea; I just want to clear about the issue.
Last I saw, it was Gaza that was bombing Israel... but I'm sure Israel will even the score shortly.
As for bankrolling Israel, Israel helps the military-industrial complex test out their latest equipment and tactics. What has Saudi Arabia done for the US lately? (Much less the Palestinians)
Israeli and the US certainly are in Bed together. There is also a large number of the House and Senate who have dual citizenship with Israel. The exact number isn't know since they don't have to publicize it, and any lists have with their names has been taken down.
Not much of a "test" when Palestinians have no army, navy, or air force. No tanks or heavy artillery. Just an incredible courage against the occupiers who assert their God wants them to have the land.
@WilliamCharles Palestinians sell themselves out to Iran and SA, exchanging photo propaganda for arms. The Palestinians cannot wage perpetual tedious war against Israel and then claim to be victims. Nobody cares because nobody buys it.
@racocn8 - you are as misinformed as you are heartless. Israelis are illegal occupiers. The UN partition came with certain obligations for Israel to meet. They haven't.
